Natural remedy for eye infections in dogs and cats

Eye infections in dogs and cats can be caused by various factors, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, allergies, injuries, and foreign objects. Here are some common types of eye infections I have used this remedy for with good results.

• 10-15ppm premium Colloidal Silver. (90%)

Eye infections that Eye Care Drops may help. 

Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): This is an inflammation of the conjunctiva (the membrane lining the eyelids and covering the white part of the eye) caused by bacterial infections. It is characterized by redness, discharge, squinting, and pawing at the eyes.[1][2]

Viral Conjunctivitis: Viruses like distemper, influenza, herpes, and feline calicivirus can cause conjunctivitis in dogs and cats, respectively. Symptoms are similar to bacterial conjunctivitis but may also include respiratory issues.[1][2]

Fungal Keratitis: Fungal infections of the cornea (the clear front part of the eye) can occur, often due to trauma or injury that allows fungi to enter the eye. This can lead to corneal ulcers and vision impairment if left untreated.[1]

Blepharitis: This is an inflammation of the eyelids caused by bacterial infections, allergies, or underlying skin conditions. It can lead to crusty discharge, swelling, and hair loss around the eyes.[2]

Tear Duct Infections: Blockages or infections of the tear ducts can cause excessive tearing, discharge, and potential corneal ulceration if not treated promptly.[3][4]

Uveitis: Inflammation of the uvea (the pigmented middle layer of the eye) can be caused by infections, trauma, or underlying diseases like feline leukemia virus. It is a painful condition that can lead to blindness if severe.[5]

While some eye infections are contagious between pets, most are not transmissible to humans. However, prompt veterinary attention is crucial to prevent complications and preserve vision in affected dogs and cats.[2]

Dosage and application: 

1-2 drops 3-4 times daily. For added relief and healing, add 1-2 caster oil drops before your pet goes to bed. Time the last CS/DMSO application 1-2 hours before bedtime.
